Vento — Privacy Policy

Overview

Vento (“the app”, “we”) is a personal training and recovery tracker. This policy explains what data the app handles, how it is used, and the choices you have. The app is built so that most of your data lives only on your device.

Data you provide

• Account: when you create an account, we store your email address to authenticate you and sync your data across your devices.
• Training data: your programs, logged sets, bodyweight entries, session ratings and notes.
• Profile: age, gender, bodyweight, height and goals you choose to enter.
• Progress photos: stored only on your device. They are never uploaded, never shared, and are not part of cloud sync.

Health & wearable data

If you choose to connect a wearable, the app reads recovery signals — heart rate variability (HRV), resting heart rate, sleep, respiratory rate, blood-oxygen and, around a workout, heart rate and active energy.

• Apple Health (HealthKit): data is read on-device with your per-type permission. It is used only to show your Readiness (recovery) score and post-workout summaries inside the app.
• Google Health / Fitbit: if you connect a Google account, the app reads the same recovery signals through Google’s Health API to power the same features.

We do not use any health or wearable data for advertising or marketing, we do not sell it, and we do not share it with third parties. It is used solely to provide the features you see in the app.

Apple HealthKit

Data read from HealthKit is not used for advertising or data-mining purposes, and is never disclosed to third parties for those purposes. You can review and revoke the app’s access at any time in iOS Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices.

Google API Services — Limited Use

Vento’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google health data is used only to provide and improve the in-app recovery and workout features you request. It is not transferred to others except as necessary to provide those features, to comply with applicable law, or as part of a merger or acquisition; it is not used for advertising; and no humans read the data unless we have your consent, it is necessary for security, or required by law.

Where your data is stored

• On-device: your training data and health metrics are stored locally in an on-device database. Progress photos never leave your device.
• Cloud sync: if you are signed in, your training data is backed up to our cloud provider (Supabase) so it syncs across your own devices. Data is encrypted in transit.
• Tokens: access tokens for connected services are kept in your device’s secure storage (Keychain).

Sharing

Your training is private by construction. The app has no followers, no feed and no discovery, so there is no audience for your data to reach — nothing you log is visible to another user.

Sharing only ever happens when you start it: tapping share on a workout or a personal best hands an image to the system share sheet, and you choose where it goes. Nothing leaves the app on its own. Progress photos are always private and are never shared.

The app does not access your contacts.

Analytics and advertising

The app contains no third-party analytics, no advertising SDKs and no tracking. We do not build advertising profiles and we do not sell your data to anyone.

Your choices

• Delete your account at any time in the app under Settings → Account → Delete account. This permanently erases your account and all associated cloud data — training history and profile. It cannot be undone. You can also contact us at the address below.
• Disconnect any wearable at any time on the Devices screen, which removes the link and deletes the biometric data synced from that source.
• Revoke Apple Health access in iOS Settings, and revoke Google access in your Google Account permissions.

Children

The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new effective date.
